Green tea
has long been hailed as a benefit to a healthy diet – packed
full of antioxidants, it also contains potassium, manganese and
vitamins A, B1, B2 and B6.
Some studies
suggest that it can help slimming or weight control. It’s
benefits are extolled by many health professionals – and
some celebrity amateurs!
But until
now, it’s never really been terribly glamorous – lumped
in the same category with linseed and flax oil, green tea can
often be regarded as something you know you should drink, but
don’t.
Set to change
that perception is the latest hot trend in London’s dim
sum restaurants - flowering green teas.
Made by selecting
the best young green tea leaves they are hand cut and then shaped.
The blossom is then selected and wrapped in the leaves before
it is hand tied into a ball and steamed. |
