Preserves & Condiments

In a bit of a departure for Doorstep Deli, we have ventured outside of Yorkshire and gone to that foreign place ‘down south’ to bring you a wonderful new range of products.  Recommended by one of our customers, Halzephron Herb Farm is exactly what it sounds – a family farm on the top of a windswept cliff in Cornwall.  Started as a family business, it remains so, and makes the most wonderful aromatic products using their own organic herbs. Their team follow 3 golden rules when developing products:

  • Natural ingredients are used.
  • Herbs, and other products are grown organically and are free from pesticides.
  • All products are free from artificial colourings and preservatives.

Sauces

Halzephron Herb Farms Palermo Dip 32g
£1.80
What a great idea!  A dip that you mix as and when you need it.  Just add a heaped teaspoon of dip mixture to three tablespoons of your chosen mix ( mayonnaise, crème fraiche, yoghurt, cottage cheese, quark, soft cheese)  and mix well.  Palermo is a Sicilian inspired blend of aromatic herbs, sun dried tomato and garlic with a good grinding of black pepper to give it some bite
Halzephron Herb Farms Provence Dip 32g
£1.80
Like it’s racier sister Palermo, Provence makes up to 8 cereal bowls of delicious dip.  Use it for crudités, as an accompaniment to salads, a topping for baked potatoes . . . . the fragrant mix of rosemary and thyme and bay will have you singing the Marseillaise in short order.
Halzephron Herb Farms Cornish Herb Dressing, 250g
£3.30
The company’s number one best selling product and it’s easy to see why.  A traditional dressing with honey and mustard, lifted with lots of fresh lemon and aromatic herbs.  The resealable bottle is a good size for keeping  in the fridge too!
Halzephron Herb Farms Spicy Salad Dressing, 250g
£3.30
Just the thing if you are feeling a little more adventurous!  This vinaigrette has red chillies  and cumin to give it extra flavour.  It’ won’t blow your head off, but you will feel that tingle.
Garlic and Lemon Mayonnaise, 285g
£3.30
Mayonnaise is one of those commodity items that stops being interesting after a while.  And that’s a shame, because good mayonnaise is one of those things that makes life worthwhile.  Fragrant with chives that offset the pungency of the garlic, and lifted by fresh lemon juice, this mayonnaise is very special indeed.
Halzephron Herb Farms Orient Express Marinade, 250g
£4.00
Full of delicious oriental flavours like soy, sherry and 5 spice this versatile marinade can also be used as a quick stirfry sauce.  The flavour is mellow and rich, thanks to the slow and careful process of production.
Halzephron Herb Farms Saucy Sally Marinade, 225g
£4.00
Named for it’s creator, Saucy Sally is a Thai inspired masterpiece, containing whole chillies, lemongrass and garlic.  Like it’s counterpart Orient Express it’s good as a stirfry as well as a marinade and is particularly well suited for  shrimps or prawns.
Halzephron Herb Farms Sweet William Marinade, 250g
£4.00
Redolent with honey, mustard and tarragon, the white wine lifts this marinade to balance the sweetness nicely.  Dreamy with chicken, but surprisingly good with gammon too.

Ingredients

Cornish Fish Mix 26g
£2.00
It may have a rather prosaic name, but this vividly coloured spice mix is anything but run of the mill.  Fragrant with fennel, dill and paprika, this versatile spice can be sprinkled on roasted or grilled fish before cooking, or used to liven up a white sauce, or a simple white wine and garlic sauce.  Even good with tinned tuna!
